Supergeek pulls off ‘near impossible’ crypto chip hack

The Trusted Platform Module (TPM) chip produced by Infineon Technologies AG and found within many computers, smart phones and game consoles has been hacked by Christopher Tarnovsky. This allows for the information that was meant to remain secure and encrypted to be read in clear text directly from the chip. Sounds great, but the attack does require physical access to the chip, a very high level of skill and knowledge to pull off.
